There is probably no other sport or hobby that places as heavy a demand on a power plant as offshore racing or running. The same holds true for Poker Run style events or just a hard days use. When asked by a reporter after a particularly hard race, why so many of the boats broke, Offshore pioneer and Legend Don Aranow told him: "Offshore racing is like drag racing an 1/8 mile. Except that you do it 100 times, without stopping." High performance engines have come a long way since then. They are more reliable, more durable, and much more expensive. One thing has not changed. Salt or Ocean water caused corrosion damage is responsible for as much as 70% of marine engine failures. It is now possible to flush your high performance engines using state of the art technology with the boat in or out of the water, without running the engines. .
